Can I fit an elevator in my home?
Most contractors can find a space in the home about the size of a closet-stacked above each other to accommodate an elevator.

What kind of power is needed to run an elevator?
Almost all models run on Standard 220 V single phase system.

How big can the elevator be?
It can be up to 15 square feet.

What is the weight limit of a home elevator?
Between 750 to 950 pounds.

What else is needed for a home elevator?
A small room to house the lift mechanics is required (the machine room). This can be a closet or area adjacent, above, or below the lift.

How far can an elevator travel?
50 Feet Maximum – up to 6 stops.

What elevator will suit your needs best?
If there is adequate area available for a machine room – then the hydraulic could be the best way to go. It is the quietest elevator on the market. For those where space is limited then cable-based drives are available.

I have an older elevator in my home, what can A&B do for me?

Does an elevator have to be inspected?
Official state Inspection is only required upon initial installation, but A&B recommends periodic inspections by our technicians to ensure continued operation of lifts within state-defined guidelines for safety and compliance.
